EQUIPMENT FOR THERAPEUTIC RIDING FOR THE DISABLED

In conjunction with the CHEFF CENTER FOR THE HANDICAPPED in Augusta, Michigan and with their kind assistance. COURBETTE has developed various equipment and teaching aids for therapeutic riding programs for handicapped equestrians. Safety and comfort of the disabled rider have been our prime consideration and concern when we designed this line of special equipment. Every attempt has been made to make riding as enjoyable and normal as possible.

SADDLES

Due to the specific needs and requirements, saddles for the disabled are custom ordered according to specifications supplied by the buying party. Please allow eight to twelve weeks for delivery.

HC-813 FLEECE SADDLE COVER

Made of high density non-slip fleece. Elasticated to stretch over the saddle for a snug fit. Openings on the bottom for the stirrup leathers. This comfortable cover helps to prevent sores on students who have thin skin, lost protective muscles, or who lack skin sensation. Machine washable. COLORS: White, Brown  $53.00

HC812 HAND HOLD (MOUNTING STRAP), FIAT

Made of durable bridle leather. Fully adjustable length. Stainless steel buckle. Attaches to the D-rings in the front of the saddle. Serves the purpose of giving the rider something to hold onto. Also aids in mounting the horse. COLORS: Berberbrown, Black   $25.00

HC-825 PLAIN SNAFFLE BRIDLE

Very durable construction from finest German cowhide leather, Hand sewn with hand rubbed edges. Hook stud style. Stainless steel buckles and hardware. 5/8" single leather browband, 1" single slotted caveson, and 5/8" plain leather reins. SIZES: Horse, Cob, Pony COLOR: Berberbrown  $225.00

HC-835 SAFETY BELT

This 6" wide safety belt is made of strong white webbing. It is tapered and buckles in the front with a heavy duty roller buckle and a sturdy harness strap. Handles on each side enable the instructor to hold the rider and assist him with his balance in the saddle. HC836 ANTI - GRAZING DEVICE

Made of two pieces of 5/8" wide nylon webbing with snaps at both ends. They tie to the D-rings in the front of the saddle, slip through the browband loops and from there snap to the bit rings. Prevents the pony from reaching down or grazing, which could cause the unbalanced rider to be pulled forward. Fully adjustable. Installs in any bridle. COLOR: Brown  $23.00

HC-890 DEVONSHIRE BOOTS

For riders with tight heel cords or weak ankle muscles, Devonshire boots are recommended to prevent the feet from sliding through open stirrups or rubbing the ankles sore. This type of special stirrup provides a solid base for the ball of the foot and aids in keeping the toes up and the heels down. A sturdy leather housing with a boxed toe part is molded around stainless steel fillis stirrups. SIZES: 41/4", 41/2". 43/4"  $113.00
